St Peter’s Church is a friendly and welcoming church situated in the centre of the beautiful village of Yoxall in Staffordshire which is on the edge of the Peak District.
Situated almost in the centre of England, in the north-east corner of Staffordshire, Yoxall is a medium sized village of about one thousand eight hundred persons.
Yoxall has a long history and is mentioned in the Doomsday Book. The oldest part of the Village is now a conservation area and includes St Peter’s Church, which is Grade II listed and has parts dating back to the 13th Century. In 2018 Yoxall was awarded the status of being a Dementia Friendly Community by the Alzheimer’s Society.
Our church doors have been open for centuries for people to meet and worship together. We aim to be welcoming and caring, where all ages are valued and supported within our lively community. The church is an integral part of the community in this beautiful village and visitors and newcomers will always be assured of a warm welcome. We aim to provide a range of services and activities so that everyone can find a home here. We have a variety of worship services, traditional and less formal services and at each service, all are welcome. There is provision for children and young people to get involved at most of the services. We want worship to be sacred but accessible, dignified but engaging. In the end, we want to be a community that in loving God, we love and serve one another and love and serve the world, beginning with our own neighbourhood.
We warmly invite you to join us at one of our services – we would love to meet you personally and welcome you to the St Peter’s family.
