Prayers this week:

Those troubled in body, mind or spirit:

Richard Gunton, Derek Smith, Christine Hubbard, Judith Stevens, Ann Cregan, Angela Carr, Sheila & Alan Richardson, Martha & Adie

 

Those who have died:

Remembering the children and staff who died in the shooting at a school in USA, praying for their families, pupils and staff of the school and for Joe Biden and the government seeking reforms to the gun laws in America.

 

Those who are remembered at this time:

Albert White, Leonard Frederick Fisher, Dennis Woodings, James Smith

Pray too for the two boys being baptised at St. Peter’s this Sunday, for their parents, godparents and all who care for them.

Give thanks too for the life and faithful Christian witness of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, praying for her in this coming week of celebration, that she will be upheld by the Holy Spirit and given strength for the events being held in her honour.  May she be fortified by the knowledge of the deep affection she is held in in this nation and throughout the world.

 

Mothers’ Union

The Mothers’ Union meeting on June 1st will be a Thanksgiving Service for 70 years patronage of MU by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, to be followed by an Afternoon Tea which will be open to members of all the Benefice churches.  In order to assist with catering, please sign the list in church if you are able to celebrate with us.  The short service will start at 2 .00 pm followed by tea. Any queries please contact Liz Binsley Tel: 472761  email: lizandmike.83@btinternet.com

 

Bible Study Group

Monday afternoons from 2.30 – 4.00 pm in Church, looking at the readings set for Sunday. It is an informal discussion group where all thoughts and ideas are valued. New members are welcome.

 

Salvation Army

We are now able to continue collecting food items for Burton Salvation Army, the basket will be in church which will be open every day. Tinned or packaged goods – in date please.

 

Church Cleaning

MONDAY, 30th  MAY   9.30am – 3.30pm. Please pop in to do an hour with me, especially if you missed the big clean. We need to clean the glass, hoover the chairs and pew seats for a start. Most polishing done already. Drinks and cake available. Please let’s finish this job before the Jubilee. Judith. Tel 472682 .
