Lent 2 – 13th March 2022 – Notices & Prayers
13th March 2022 Joanna Turner

Prayers this week:

Those troubled in body, mind or spirit:

Richard Gunton, Margaret Swinnerton, Glyn, Sue, Ron, Judith Stevens, Sheila & Alan Richardson, Martha & Adie, Chris Besanko

Those who have died:

Remember all killed in the war in Ukraine

Those whose anniversaries fall at this time:

Pamela Ann Mayneord, Simon John Hancock, Edna Annan, Michael John Bavin, Edna Ward, Peggy Lewis

Continue to pray too for the ever-deepening situation in Ukraine, for all who are involved in the fighting, for those trapped in their towns or cities living with no facilities, shortage of food and facing danger every day.

For those who have fled to neighbouring countries and are now living as refugees. Give thanks for all who have provided them with safe places, food and shelter and for all those throughout the world sending aid.

Prayers too for world powers as they work together to find ways to respond to this aggression.

Prayers too for the Kings Bromley ‘Open the Book’ team as they have their first session at Richard Crosse School this Wednesday.

Therefore, on Sunday 13th  March 2022, at 2.00pm in St. Peter’s Church there will be a short service of Dedication for the Altar linen and Baptismal Towels bought with money donated in her memory.

After the Service, tea/coffee with cakes/biscuits will be provided at the back of the church and we would be very pleased if Mum’s friends would like to join us, Gwyneth, Ruth, Maurice, Wendy and Margaret and their families.  Many thanks, Ruth

Green Corridor and Churchyard Rejuvenation ~ 2nd & 3rd April

Be a Super Hero and volunteer to help with the Big Clean-up Weekend of April 2nd  and 3rd .  We are hoping to create a Green Corridor through the churchyard and rejuvenate the untidy areas where ivy, brambles, weeds and saplings are beginning to take over.  It is timed to coincide with the Village Clean-up on the Saturday morning and carry on through the weekend.  The sessions will run on Saturday 2nd from 9:30 to 13:00 and then from 14:00 to 16:30.  On Sunday 3rd the time is 12:00 to 16:00.  Refreshments will be available both days; in the Parish Hall on Saturday morning and in Church at the other times.  If you could spare a few hours over the weekend then please bring along your gloves and tools. Everyone is very welcome to come and join in – we can all be part of the Queens Platinum Jubilee Green Canopy project.  Contact Kay Davies (472979) or Diana Muir (473455) for more information and please let us know if you will be joining in so we can ensure there is enough cake and biscuits to go round!  Thank you.

Cleaning Rota 2022

Please give this some serious thought……we need 2 people per week to tidy, do light dusting, hoover if necessary, check sinks etc.  About an hour and a half would be enough. We have a big clean twice a year for high dusting, proper polishing etc. Materials provided. Please contact Judith Rickard on 472682. Your help would be very much appreciated in order to keep our church looking clean and tidy.  Many thanks.

Floodlights

Please will you send any requests for floodlights to Rosemary Payne, 9 Hadley Street. Tel: 472943 rosemary.payne@mypostoffice.co.uk   Thank you.

Car parking

When attending church by car at Yoxall, please do not park in the car park of the Golden Cup Pub.  If this is not possible, please park on the gravel at the far end of the car park.  If there is not room here, please park on one of the side streets in Yoxall.   This car park adjacent to the pub belongs to the pub and the Yoxall PCC has received complaints.  The complaint is that church users parking their cars in the pub car park, restrict  Sunday trade for the pub.

Notice Sheets from Kings Bromley, Hamstall Ridware and Mavesyn Ridware

In addition to the Notice sheet for Yoxall, we will be sending out the Notice sheets for the other Churches in our Benefice each week so that we can all pray for one another at this time.
