Lent 1 – 6th March 2022 – Notices & Prayers

Lent 1 – 6th March 2022 – Notices & Prayers
6th March 2022 Joanna Turner

Prayers this week:

Those troubled in body, mind or spirit:

Richard Gunton, Glyn, Sue, Ron, Margaret Swinnerton, Judith Stevens, Chris Besanko, Sheila and Alan Richardson, Martha and Adie

Those who have died:

All who have been killed in the conflict in the Ukraine

Those whose anniversaries fall at this time:

Walter Moore, Edith Atkin

Continue to pray for the people of Ukraine, for those remaining in the country living with fear and danger, for those whose homes and livelihoods have been destroyed, for those who have fled to other countries seeking refuge leaving behind family members.  Pray too for all world leaders seeking to give support

to the Ukrainians.  For President Zelenskyy leading his country at this terrible time and also for the many Russians who do not support this invasion. For Vladimir Putin and his government that this invasion may come to a halt and Ukraine be restored.

We give thanks for the many peoples and countries who have been giving practical support to Ukrainians, especially those living as refugees.

Service of Dedication

Due to the restrictions of Covid-19 coronavirus, family and friends were not able to attend Mary Buxton’s funeral. Therefore, on Sunday 13th  March 2022, at 2.00pm in St. Peter’s Church there will be a short service of Dedication for the Altar linen and Baptismal Towels bought with money donated in her memory.

After the Service, tea/coffee with cakes/biscuits will be provided at the back of the church and we would be very pleased if Mum’s friends would like to join us, Gwyneth, Ruth, Maurice, Wendy and Margaret and their families.  Many thanks, Ruth

Cleaning Rota 2022

Please give this some serious thought……we need 2 people per week to tidy, do light dusting, hoover if necessary, check sinks etc.  About an hour and a half would be enough. We have a big clean twice a year for high dusting, proper polishing etc. Materials provided. Please contact Judith Rickard on 472682. Your help would be very much appreciated in order to keep our church looking clean and tidy.  Many thanks.

Floodlights

Please will you send any requests for floodlights to Rosemary Payne, 9 Hadley Street. Tel: 472943 rosemary.payne@mypostoffice.co.uk   Thank you.
