Epiphany 3 – 23rd January 2022 – Notices & Prayers

Epiphany 3 – 23rd January 2022 – Notices & Prayers
22nd January 2022 Joanna Turner

Prayers this week:

Those troubled in body, mind or spirit:

Richard Gunton, Sheila and Alan Richardson, Glyn, Martha and Adie, Floss Cartwright

Those who have died:

John Stephenson

Pray for all who are severely affected by the volcano eruption near Tonga, those who have suffered from the subsequent tsunami many miles away and for all living on the island of Tonga as they come to terms with the amount of damage. We remember those who are providing aid, both physically and financially.

We remember those who have died and those who are injured. Pray for a worldwide response.

Pray too for our nation as we start to make steps to more normal living.

Dates for diary

Please write in the new diary any events you or your group are hoping to hold in church during 2022.

The Prayer Shawl Ministry and Neighbourly Natter have already done so.  The diary is in St.Swithin’s room behind the door. Many thanks.

Recording of Services

If anyone is unable to get to church and would like a recording of a service, please would you email Jeremy directly, who will be able to send you the video link.     jeremybrading@gmail.com

Flower Guild

Do you enjoy seeing the flower arrangements in church and would like us to continue with fresh displays each week?
Then please help us by signing up on the rota list at the back of church – just once a year is enough …  maybe to remember someone special, an occasion or a birthday. If you need help or to find out more please call me.  Sarah 473046

Due to the ongoing Covid situation, all the Church doors of St Peter’s, Yoxall will remain open during services until further notice. We are sorry for the inconvenience this may cause, but in the interests of safety feel it is a necessary step to take.

Bible Study Group

Monday afternoons from 2.30 – 4.00 pm in Church, looking at the readings set for Sunday. It is an informal discussion group where all thoughts and ideas are valued. New members will be made very welcome.

Salvation Army

We are now able to continue collecting food items for Burton Salvation Army, the basket will be in church which will be open every day. Tinned or packaged goods – in date please.

Soul Food Course

Deborah would like to draw to everyone’s attention to a course on prayer run by the Diocesan Spirituality Team.  It is called ‘Soul Food’ and is available in-person and on-line:

‘Soul Food’  is a course for anyone who wants to grow in prayer.

While there is a full in-person course running, potential participants may also want to do the course online. Over eight evenings and two Saturdays this spring, the group will explore and practice ways of praying, with awareness of the Christian prayer traditions and also of our own personalities and the ways God is calling us now. The course is open to all including beginners in prayer and those with longer experience.

If you would like more information have a word with Deborah or contact Charles Ruxton, Diocesan Spirituality Adviser. Details and an application form are on our website

Please will you send any requests for floodlights to Rosemary Payne, 9 Hadley Street. Tel: 472943 rosemary.payne@mypostoffice.co.uk   Thank you.
