Third Sunday of Advent – 12th December 2021 – Notices & Prayers
12th December 2021 Joanna Turner

Prayers this week:

Those troubled in body, mind or spirit:

Richard Gunton, Sheila & Alan Richardson, Martha, Adie, Gyn.

Those whose anniversaries fall at this time:

William Charles Atkin, Phyllis Gaffney, Pamela Margaret Harbon

Pray too for all who are working to contain the Omicron variant of Covid, Scientists, Politicians and those making decision which affect our daily lives, Doctors, nurses and all health care professionals coping with increased incidents of the virus whilst also coping with a back log of treatments and operations. We pray for the safety of the most vulnerable.

We remember those living on their own and those suffering from depression. Pray too for those who are homeless, refugees, or asylum seekers. Give help and encouragement to all who are involved in bringing relief and help.

Due to the ongoing Covid situation, all the Church doors of St Peter’s, Yoxall will remain open during services until further notice.

We are sorry for the inconvenience this may cause, but in the interests of safety feel it is a necessary step to take.

Bible Study Group

Monday afternoons from 2.30 – 4.00 pm in Church, looking at the readings set for Sunday. It is an informal discussion group where all thoughts and ideas are valued. New members will be made very welcome.

Tea and Toast

Tea and Toast is back! Monday mornings during term time from 9.00am to 10.00am in church. All welcome!

Salvation Army

We are now able to continue collecting food items for Burton Salvation Army, the basket will be in church which will be open every day. Tinned or packaged goods – in date please.

It is with delight that we are once again able to send the POSADA figures around the village.

If you would like to host Mary and Joseph for one night during Advent (28th November – 23rd December) please sign up on the list at the back of church.

Advent ~ Gifts for the Pathway Refuge

We are once again collecting new toys, games or gifts for children at the Pathway refuge in Lichfield, also gift items for Mums. Please leave them unwrapped on the table in church.

These will be taken to Pathway on Friday 17th  December. Any gifts not used at Christmas will be saved and used for birthdays throughout the year. These families will have escaped an abusive situation and often have to leave with very little, sometimes nothing.

Also in aid of Pathway – there will be a Christmas Concert by Good Company Choir, on Wednesday 8th December 2.00 pm, at St. Michael’s on the Hill in Lichfield, to raise funds in support of the work of this Refuge. Tickets are £10 which includes a glass of wine. Available from Liz Binsley 472761 – If you wish to go names are needed by the end of November.

Please  will you send any requests for floodlights to Rosemary Payne, 9 Hadley Street. Tel: 472943   Thank you.
