Rest in Peace Mike
Given the current Government regulations concerning the COVID pandemic, concerning both funerals there is a strict limit to the number of people who can be present. Funerals will therefore be attended by invitation of the family only. Please either stay at home and during the times of the service, join with us that way in prayer and thanksgiving or you may also like to show your respect by waiting on the road outside church.
Flowers for Mike’s funeral
Mike has served the people of this village for many years and as the seating at the funeral service will be limited, the Flower Guild have suggested that people might like to pay their respects by bringing flowers in vases to the church on the afternoon of June 9th, between 2.00pm – 4.00pm to be placed around the church as a final goodbye from everyone. The vase can be as simple as a jam jar containing garden flowers.
No expert flower arranging needed, just a simple message of love for Mike.
Christian Aid
A huge thank you to everyone who has delivered the little red envelopes and especially to those who have taken the trouble to return them. Please continue to do so – the addresses are: 9 Hadley St, 26 Lovell Rd, 5 Swarbourn Close, 3 Churchfields or 15 Sudbury Rd. Or bring them to church on Sunday. Thank you again. Rosemary and Wendy
Church flower tubs
It’s that time of year again when we need to think about replanting our church tubs for a summer display. We think that it is a lovely feature to have outside our church. So with that in mind, we would be very grateful for any donations towards the buying of the plants and thank you for all your generous contributions in the past. Please leave any donations with Angela Carr at Rook Cottage, Victoria Street. Tel 473512
St. Peter’s Church Flower Guild is meeting at last!
The Flower Guild will be having an informal meeting for the existing members and any new volunteers – to welcome us back and prepare a new rota for the remainder of the year 2021.
Do come and join us to celebrate being together in St .Peter’s Church at 3pm on Wednesday 23rdJune for tea and biscuits …or maybe cake!
We look forward to seeing you but if you are unable to make this date and would like to be involved or make a donation, please let me know. Flowers will once again be regularly placed in church with extra displays for those special occasions and religious festivals, all provided by members of the Guild and with your help.
Thank you to everyone who donated for flowers at Easter, we purchased some new pots to remain outside the church entrance and I do hope you enjoyed the display of daffodils and Spring flowers.
If you would like more information please do call me: Sarah Price, 01543 473046
